Personalizing your TransitScreen GO

TransitScreen works hard to provide you a customized, curated experience — all the transit information that’s most useful to you, all in one place. As part of this, we have an option for communities and workplaces to have access to our real-time information on personal screens in addition to the lobby.

TransitScreen GO is a website you can pull up on any mobile device, customized for that same location. You can access it directly from any browser on your phone, tablet, or laptop — and, increasingly, from building websites themselves.

If you’re in your apartment building, this means you can pull it up on your phone while still in your unit to see if you’ve got time to finish your coffee or if you need to run down the stairs right this second. If you’re at work, you can bookmark it and check on your laptop from your desk to make sure the commuter rail is still on time.

We’ve recently added new features to allow you to personalize this to your preferences and create a better user experience overall. Most apps don't allow you to customize the information presented to you, just giving you an overload of generic data. We’ve made sure you can decide which information is important to you — and which isn’t.

First, you can customize the order of what’s on your screen to accommodate what’s most useful to you. We may have put the subway first on the lobby screen because a larger number of people take it, but maybe you take the bus instead. Now you can click and drag your most commonly used bus stop to the top of your screen so it’ll be the first thing you see when you open it.

Second, you can also hide information you don’t need and then bring it back if you do. If you don’t have a Zipcar membership, you can hide this section from your screen. If you end up getting one a few months down the line, you can always click to expand that section. This allows you to decide which information you need and when you need it.

Best of all, of course, your device will remember your preferences the next time you open it, so you only need to do it once!

If you’re a member of a community with a TransitScreen GO link and there’s a transit option you think we’re missing, let us know! There might not be room to add it on the physical screen, but there’s always room on the internet.
